Description

Here I may present to you, an exquisite work made in the honor of Odin.

Odin is the main Deity from the Germanic/Nordic Viking Pantheon. Odin (Old Norse: Óðinn) is the god of wisdom, poetry, death, divination, and magic in Norse mythology. Son of Bor and the giantess (jötunn) Bestla, Odin is the chief of the Æsir and king of Asgard. He is married to the goddess Frigg, and is father to the gods Thor, Baldr, Höðr, Víðarr, and Váli.

I chose to paint Odin in an old classical setting and style as it would add up to his majestic even ethereal radiance. The Painting is made on durable Powerplex wood and is 60 cm ( width) by 90 cm (height) in size. He is set with titanbuff/ black/ancientgoldgreen and Paynegrey acryl paints and is finished with a Satin gloss varnish. He makes part of my Viking series next to my already created sculptures of Hella and Sunna. ( See the sculpture section on this website) Yet more of this series is in the making.

Odin will look Kingly in a Classical setting. Ideal as well for an interior with strong light and dark contrasts. Or in an exuberant or a Rich Scandinavic (Viking) Style.

The woodpainting does not really require a frame albeit the right frame can make it even more Kingly.

In any case; The painting is lovely for Vikingfans and for those who embrace their Nordic background and upbringings.

The painting will come enveloped in foam in a firm box and is shipped securely, insured and with an excellent carrier to the buyer.
